The state of Arunachal Pradesh will showcase a collection of Shakyamuni Buddha relics across various venues starting October 31, as part of a cultural and religious initiative.
The state of Arunachal Pradesh is set to unveil a significant exhibition of Shakyamuni Buddha relics beginning on 31 October. The collection, which includes items believed to have belonged to the Buddha, will be displayed in several cultural centers across the state.
The relics are said to hold great spiritual importance for Buddhists and are expected to attract visitors from neighboring states and abroad. Officials have highlighted the event as a way to promote interfaith dialogue and cultural tourism.
Exhibitions will rotate among major towns, with the first display scheduled in the capital city of Itanagar. Subsequent venues will include Tawang, Ziro, and Pasighat, each hosting the relics for a week.
Arunachal’s tourism department has announced that the event will run for three months, concluding in late January. The initiative is part of a broader effort to showcase the region’s rich heritage and strengthen its position as a spiritual tourism hub.
