Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu unveiled a ₹7,834 crore development package aimed at rebuilding the state by 2029, focusing on infrastructure, connectivity and disaster resilience.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced a comprehensive ₹7,834 crore plan to rebuild Arunachal Pradesh by 2029. The package, unveiled during a press conference in the state capital, is designed to address the region’s unique challenges of rugged terrain and frequent natural disasters.
The plan earmarks funds for upgrading roads, bridges and rail links, expanding digital connectivity, and strengthening disaster‑management infrastructure. It also includes provisions for upgrading hospitals, schools and public utilities to improve the quality of life for residents.
Experts say the investment will boost economic activity, enhance trade links with neighboring states and improve resilience against landslides and floods that have historically disrupted the region.
CM Khandu emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive development and will be implemented in phases, with regular monitoring and community participation.
