The Arunachal Pradesh Frontier Highway project is progressing as authorities address remaining obstacles, aiming to complete the 1,700‑km stretch by 2029.

The Arunachal Pradesh Frontier Highway, a 1,700‑km stretch along the India‑China border, is moving forward after the state government cleared several administrative and land‑acquisition hurdles. The project, which began in 2018, now has a revised schedule that targets completion by 2029. Officials say that resolving issues related to forest clearances, local land rights, and coordination with central ministries has removed the last major bottlenecks. The highway is expected to improve connectivity for remote border villages and enhance strategic mobility for the Indian Army.
