Arunachal Pradesh has announced the discovery of a new leafless orchid species, highlighting the state's rich botanical diversity.
In a recent announcement, the government of Arunachal Pradesh revealed that a new leafless orchid species has been identified within the state's forests.
Leafless orchids are rare, as most orchids possess leaves that serve as photosynthetic organs. The discovery underscores the unique ecological niches present in the northeastern Himalayas.
Scientists plan to study the species further to understand its adaptation mechanisms and potential conservation needs.
