Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein addressed the media today, emphasizing the vast hydropower potential that Arunachal Pradesh holds. He highlighted that the state’s numerous rivers and steep gradients make it an ideal location for large‑scale hydroelectric projects.
Mr. Mein pointed out that existing infrastructure is limited but that the government is ready to facilitate approvals and provide incentives for private investment. He cited several proposed sites along the Siang, Subansiri, and Dibang rivers that could generate up to 5,000 megawatts of clean energy.
