Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu unveiled a GPS‑enabled application designed to monitor garbage trucks in Itanagar, aiming to improve waste collection efficiency and city cleanliness.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced the launch of a new GPS‑enabled application during a press briefing in Itanagar. The app is intended to provide real‑time tracking of municipal garbage trucks, allowing authorities to monitor routes and schedules more effectively.
The system will record the location of each truck, enabling the waste management department to identify delays, optimize collection routes, and reduce idle time at disposal sites. Residents will also be able to view the status of garbage pickups through the app, promoting transparency.
By integrating GPS data with the city’s waste management framework, the state government expects to improve overall cleanliness and reduce operational costs. The initiative is part of a broader effort to modernise municipal services in Arunachal Pradesh.
