The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced that the Arun Jaitley Stadium will now irrigate its cricket pitches using treated water from a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), instead of groundwater. This initiative aims to conserve the region's groundwater resources.

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has adopted a new water conservation method for the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The association has stated that the stadium's cricket pitches will now be irrigated using treated water sourced from a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).

This significant shift moves away from the traditional reliance on groundwater for irrigation purposes. The DDCA's decision is expected to contribute to the preservation of dwindling groundwater levels in the Delhi region.

In addition to the water treatment initiative, the stadium has also prepared 17 rainwater harvesting and recharge shafts. These structures are designed to capture and replenish groundwater during monsoon seasons.
