Approximately 40 young cyclists from Nalanda will take part in the Asmita Khelo India Women’s Road Cycling State League scheduled for 26‑27 September in Munger, with over 500 female riders expected from across Bihar.

Munger in Bihar will host the Asmita Khelo India Women’s Road Cycling State League on 26 and 27 September, bringing together female cyclists from across the state. The two‑day event aims to provide a competitive platform for women riders and to promote cycling as a sport among youth.
Around forty cyclists from Nalanda district are slated to compete, representing the region’s growing interest in the sport. Organisers anticipate participation from more than five hundred women cyclists drawn from several districts of Bihar, making it one of the larger gatherings of female athletes in the state.
The league forms part of the broader Khelo India initiative, which seeks to identify and nurture sporting talent at the grassroots level. By focusing on women’s road cycling, the event underscores the state’s commitment to gender‑inclusive sports development and offers aspiring athletes exposure to higher‑level competition.
Local authorities and sports officials have highlighted the importance of such tournaments in encouraging active lifestyles and providing pathways for talented cyclists to advance to national and international arenas.
