Nearly 200 pupils from Biroudi Eklaavya Residential School in Jaitpur, Shahdol, walked more than 15 kilometres to the district collector’s office demanding action on a principal‑related grievance.
Around two hundred students from Biroudi Eklaavya Residential School in Jaitpur, Shahdol district, set out on foot after lodging complaints against their principal. The group aimed to meet the district collector to present their grievances directly.
The youngsters have already covered more than 15 kilometres, walking for several hours under the summer heat. Their march reflects growing frustration among the student body over the handling of the principal’s alleged misconduct.
In response, the district administration deployed two buses and arranged food and water for the students, attempting to persuade them to return and discuss the matter through official channels. Officials said they are reviewing the complaints and will take appropriate action.
No reports of injuries or law‑and‑order incidents have emerged, and the situation remains under close monitoring by local authorities.
