An army porter suffered a foot amputation after a landmine detonated near the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An army porter was injured when a landmine exploded close to the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. The blast resulted in the loss of his foot, requiring immediate medical attention.
The incident occurred in a sector that frequently witnesses cross‑border tensions, but officials said the explosion was not linked to any ongoing operation.
Medical teams from the army hospital attended the porter on site and later transferred him to a tertiary care facility for surgery. The army has launched an investigation to determine the source of the mine and to reinforce safety measures for personnel working near the LoC.
