Army officer’s wife booked on suspicion of espionage, reports Daily Excelsior

Daily Excelsior reported that the wife of an Indian Army officer was booked by law enforcement agencies on suspicion of espionage. The booking was made after preliminary inquiries, but the newspaper did not disclose the specific allegations or the evidence that led to the action.

According to the report, the authorities have kept the details of the case confidential, citing national security considerations. No official statement from the Army or the investigating agency has been released as of now.

The incident highlights the sensitivity surrounding security-related investigations involving members of the armed forces and their families. Investigators are said to be continuing their probe, but further information is expected only when the case progresses.

The lack of additional data means that the public remains largely unaware of the circumstances that prompted the espionage suspicion. The matter is being handled as a confidential security case, with updates likely to emerge from official channels in due course.
