Arms Act suspect Santosh Yadav jumps into Chandan River in Jagdishpur, Bihar

Jagdishpur in Bihar became the scene of a dramatic police chase on Tuesday when Santosh Yadav, who had been taken into custody under the Arms Act, managed to break free and jump into the Chandan River. The suspect, identified by local authorities, was being escorted by a police constable when he slipped away from the officer's grip.

According to the police, Yadav ran towards the riverbank and, without hesitation, leapt into the swift current of the Chandan River. The sudden plunge caught the accompanying constable off guard, leaving him momentarily stunned as the suspect disappeared downstream.

Police officials later confirmed that they have launched a search operation to locate Yadav and retrieve any weapons that may have been carried. The incident has prompted a review of escort procedures for detainees in the region, though no injuries were reported among the officers involved.
