Two armed youths on motorcycles tried to force entry into the Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Ajit Nagar, Jalandhar around 1:30 am on Tuesday, but fled after an elderly worshipper raised an alarm.
Around 1:30 am on Tuesday, two young men riding motorcycles arrived at the Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Ajit Nagar, Jalandhar. Both were carrying weapons and attempted to breach the temple premises.
The youths forced the main gate and tried to push further inside. Their intrusion was interrupted when an elderly devotee inside the shrine shouted, drawing attention to the unlawful act.
Startled by the disturbance, the armed men retreated and fled the scene on their bikes. No injuries were reported, and the incident was promptly reported to local authorities for further investigation.
The gurdwara management confirmed that worship was temporarily halted but resumed after the intruders left. Police are expected to examine CCTV footage and gather statements to identify the perpetrators.
