The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) has launched a statewide campaign to raise awareness about child rights, beginning in the district headquarters of Longding.

The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) inaugurated a comprehensive child‑rights awareness campaign across the state, with the launch ceremony held in Longding district headquarters. Officials from the commission, local administrators and civil‑society representatives attended the event, signalling coordinated support for the initiative.

The campaign aims to educate children, parents, teachers and community members about constitutional safeguards, protection laws and the importance of reporting abuse. Outreach activities will include street‑theatre performances, interactive workshops in schools, distribution of informational pamphlets and a series of radio messages in local dialects.

APSCPCR officials said the drive seeks to create a safer environment for children in Arunachal Pradesh’s remote and tribal areas, where awareness of legal rights is often limited. The commission plans to monitor the program’s reach through feedback mechanisms and hopes the effort will reduce instances of child labour, trafficking and neglect.

State authorities have pledged logistical assistance, while NGOs have offered volunteer support, underscoring a multi‑stakeholder approach to safeguarding child welfare in the region.
