Appointed medical officers absent from Meghalaya primary health centres

According to the report, a number of medical officers who were officially appointed to these centres have failed to turn up for work, creating gaps in service delivery. The absence of qualified doctors at PHCs threatens the availability of basic medical care for rural populations that rely on these facilities. Health authorities in Shillong have been urged to investigate the reasons behind the non‑attendance and to ensure that the appointed officers assume their posts promptly, to prevent further disruption of primary health services.
