The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee, after touring the border villages of Maza and Taksing following a recent PLA incursion, called for decisive measures to protect the state’s territory and its residents.

A recent incursion by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) along the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh has heightened security concerns in the northeastern state. The intrusion, reported in the border area of Upper Subansiri, prompted a swift response from local political leaders.

In the aftermath, senior members of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) traveled to the frontier villages of Maza and Taksing to assess the situation on the ground. During the visit they interacted with villagers, local officials and security personnel, noting the vulnerability of the remote settlements.

The APCC issued a statement demanding bold and immediate steps from the central government to fortify the region. The party called for accelerated deployment of defence infrastructure, improved connectivity, and enhanced support for the civilian population living near the disputed border.

Party leaders also urged the Union Ministry of Defence to coordinate closely with state authorities to ensure that any future incursions are deterred effectively. They emphasized that safeguarding Arunachal’s land and people is essential for national security and the well‑being of the local communities.

The call for decisive action comes as New Delhi continues to balance diplomatic engagement with China and the need to reinforce its frontier positions.
