The new trailer of the upcoming film ‘Doosra’ showcases veteran actor Anil Kapoor and cricketer Rohit Sharma commending Sourav Ganguly’s 2002 NatWest triumph.
The entertainment house behind the biopic ‘Doosra’ released its official trailer this week, highlighting a pivotal moment in Indian cricket history. The teaser interweaves cinematic storytelling with archival footage of Sourav Ganguly’s decisive win at the 2002 NatWest series, framing it as a turning point for the nation’s sporting morale.
Veteran actor Anil Kapoor, who stars in the film, praised the portrayal of the innings, saying the sequence captures the emotional intensity of the era. Former India captain Rohit Sharma, appearing in a cameo, echoed the sentiment, noting that the win remains a source of inspiration for young cricketers.
Ganguly’s 2002 victory, which secured a series win against England, is widely regarded as a defining achievement in his career. By anchoring the narrative around this event, ‘Doosra’ aims to blend sports drama with personal redemption, targeting both cricket fans and cinema audiences.
The trailer has generated significant buzz on social media, with viewers commenting on the seamless fusion of sport and storytelling. The film is slated for a nationwide release later this year, with producers hoping the nostalgic appeal will translate into strong box‑office performance.
