Andhra Pradesh officials introduced a new GST administration model that leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning at a national coordination meeting. The framework is designed to automate routine compliance tasks, detect anomalies in tax filings and forecast revenue trends, aiming to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
The presentation was part of a broader dialogue among central and state representatives on modernising tax administration across India. Delegates were briefed on how the AI‑ML tools can analyse large volumes of transaction data in real time, flag potential fraud and streamline the return filing process.
State authorities indicated that the model will undergo pilot testing in selected districts before a wider rollout. If successful, the technology could be shared with other states to create a more uniform and data‑driven GST ecosystem nationwide.
