The Andhra Pradesh government has proposed a ₹257 crore allocation to broaden its AYUSH infrastructure, aiming to enhance traditional medicine facilities across the state.

The state government of Andhra Pradesh has announced a proposal to earmark ₹257 crore for the expansion of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) infrastructure.

The plan, presented by the health department, seeks to upgrade existing AYUSH centers and establish new facilities in underserved districts, thereby improving access to traditional medical services.

Officials said the investment would cover construction costs, procurement of equipment, and training of healthcare staff in AYUSH practices.

The proposal is part of the state’s broader strategy to promote holistic health care and integrate traditional medicine into mainstream health services.

If approved, the funding would be distributed over the next fiscal year, with a focus on rural and semi‑urban areas.
