The state government of Andhra Pradesh has approved the establishment of its inaugural flight training organization in Kurnool, marking a milestone for regional aviation education.
The Andhra Pradesh government has given the green light to set up the state’s first dedicated flight training organisation in Kurnool, a move aimed at strengthening the region’s aviation ecosystem.
The institute, operating under the state aviation department, will provide pilot‑training programmes that meet the standards of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). It is expected to accommodate a batch of trainees each year, using modern simulators and aircraft.
Officials say the centre will create direct and indirect employment opportunities for locals and is expected to attract aspiring pilots from across the country, thereby boosting the local economy.
The training facility is slated to become operational by early next year, aligning with the central government's push to increase the number of Indian pilots and expand the aviation sector.
