The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has given the green light to a ₹31,387‑crore artificial‑intelligence data centre in Visakhapatnam, billed as an environmentally‑friendly infrastructure project.
The state cabinet of Andhra Pradesh has formally approved a massive green artificial‑intelligence data centre to be built in Visakhapatnam, with an estimated outlay of ₹31,387 crore. The project is positioned as a flagship initiative to combine high‑performance computing with sustainable design.
According to the approval documents, the centre will incorporate renewable energy sources, advanced cooling systems and carbon‑neutral construction practices. The facility is expected to host thousands of AI servers, providing cloud and analytics services to both domestic and international clients. Construction is slated to begin later this year, with an operational target set for 2027.
State officials anticipate that the data centre will generate significant economic benefits, including the creation of thousands of skilled jobs and a boost to the regional technology ecosystem.
