Andhra Pradesh's Community Managed Natural Farming program has been awarded the prestigious 2026 Food Planet Prize, recognizing its extensive reach and impact on sustainable food systems.

The Community Managed Natural Farming (CMNF) programme in Andhra Pradesh has achieved a significant international recognition by winning the 2026 Food Planet Prize. This award is considered one of the world's largest accolades for advancements in sustainable food systems. The initiative has successfully engaged approximately 18 lakh farmers across 8,000 villages within the state.

The CMNF programme champions the principles of natural farming, an agricultural method that emphasizes ecological balance and minimal external inputs. This approach aims to foster healthier soil, biodiversity, and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, thereby promoting a more sustainable food production model.

By empowering a vast network of farmers and promoting environmentally conscious agricultural practices, the Andhra Pradesh initiative has demonstrated a scalable and effective model for sustainable food systems, earning it this global distinction.
