The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has urged the central government to set up a shipbuilding centre at Dugarajapatnam, citing potential economic and employment benefits for the region.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has formally requested the central government to establish a shipbuilding centre at Dugarajapatnam, a coastal town in the state.
Dugarajapatnam, located on the eastern coast, is strategically positioned to support maritime industries and could serve as a hub for ship construction and repair.
The proposal highlights expected benefits such as job creation, skill development, and increased foreign exchange earnings for the state.
The CM’s request comes as part of a broader push to boost Andhra Pradesh’s industrial base, and officials say the central government will review the feasibility of the project in the coming months.
