Amritsar's rural police announced the arrest of three suspects believed to have been involved in a cross‑border heroin procurement network linked to Pakistan. The operation, part of a broader crackdown on narcotics trafficking in the region, resulted in the detention of the accused without reported injuries.
During the raid, officers seized a cache that included ten kilograms of heroin, a handgun, three cartridges and a motorcycle believed to have been used for transporting the contraband. The seized items were handed over to the forensic laboratory for further analysis.
Police officials highlighted the significance of the bust, stating that it disrupts a supply chain that threatens public safety in Punjab. The department has pledged to continue its vigilance against drug smuggling and related criminal activities.
