Police in Amritsar have lodged a criminal complaint alleging that a person or persons unlawfully seized the monthly allowances meant for 27 schoolchildren.
Police in Amritsar registered a criminal case on Tuesday after receiving complaints that the monthly allowances intended for 27 schoolchildren were unlawfully taken by an unknown individual or group. The allegations were made by parents of the affected children, who reported that the money, normally transferred to the schools’ accounts, was missing.
According to the police report, the alleged theft involved the diversion of the allowances before they reached the school’s finance office. The complainants provided bank statements and school records that show a discrepancy in the expected and actual deposits.
The Amritsar Police’s Education Wing said it has opened an inquiry and will investigate the matter under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code. The officers are collecting evidence, including CCTV footage from the school premises and bank transaction logs.
The case is now pending in the local court, and the police have urged the parents to cooperate fully with the investigation. No suspect has been named publicly at this stage.
