In Amritsar, officials and residents gathered to commemorate the martyrdom of freedom fighter Madan Lal Dhingra on his death anniversary.
On Thursday, Amritsar's municipal authorities and local residents marked the anniversary of Madan Lal Dhingra's martyrdom with a solemn ceremony at the memorial park.
Dhingra, a prominent Indian revolutionary, was executed in 1909 for his role in the Delhi Durbar bomb plot.
The ceremony included a flag‑raising, a moment of silence, and speeches by the mayor and a senior historian who highlighted Dhingra's contribution to the independence movement.
The event served to remind younger generations of the sacrifices made for India's freedom and reinforced the city's historical ties to the struggle.
