A cycling rally was organized in Amritsar as part of the ongoing war on drugs, aiming to raise public awareness against substance abuse.
Amritsar witnessed a cycling rally today, organized under the banner of the city’s anti‑drug war. The event brought together cyclists, local volunteers and officials who rode through key streets to highlight the dangers of substance abuse. Organisers said the rally is intended to engage the community, especially youth, in a visible, health‑focused protest against drug use.
The route covered several prominent landmarks in the city, allowing spectators to observe the participants and the messages displayed on banners and signage. Police and health officials were present to ensure safety and to distribute informational pamphlets about drug prevention programs.
Authorities reiterated that the rally is part of a broader strategy to curb drug trafficking and consumption in Punjab, complementing existing enforcement and rehabilitation efforts. They urged citizens to support the initiative and report any drug‑related activities.
The event concluded with a short address by a local official, who thanked the volunteers and called for continued community involvement in the fight against drugs.
