Home Minister Amit Shah will open the Gujarat Gaurav Sarovar today, a reservoir built at a cost of over ₹4 crore to serve farmers from more than 70 villages.

New Delhi – Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to inaugurate the Gujarat Gaurav Sarovar later today in Gujarat. The ceremony marks the completion of a water‑storage project that has been under construction for several months.

The sarovar, a man‑made reservoir, was built at an estimated cost exceeding ₹4 crore. State officials say the facility is designed to capture monsoon runoff and provide a reliable water source for irrigation.

The project is expected to benefit farmers from more than 70 villages in the surrounding region, enhancing agricultural productivity and reducing dependence on erratic rainfall. Local authorities have highlighted the sarovar as a key component of Gujarat’s broader water‑security strategy.

State representatives will accompany Amit Shah during the inauguration, and the event is being closely watched as an example of central‑state cooperation on rural infrastructure.
