Today, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) inaugurated a new waste segregation shed in Ward 18, marking a significant step toward improved waste management in the city.
The facility, equipped with separate bins for organic, recyclable, and hazardous waste, aims to streamline the segregation process at the source and reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills.
The opening ceremony was attended by AMC officials and local residents, who expressed optimism about the project’s potential to boost recycling rates and curb environmental pollution.
AMC plans to monitor the shed’s performance closely and, based on its success, may expand similar facilities to other wards in the coming months.
