A video circulating online a day before the Alwar municipal elections shows sweet boxes allegedly containing kalakand and ₹500 notes in Ward 42’s Divakari area.

A video that surfaced on social media on the eve of the Alwar municipal elections depicts sweet boxes purportedly holding pieces of kalakand alongside ₹500 currency notes. The clip was recorded in the Divakari locality of Ward 42, one of the 70 wards that will vote in the upcoming civic poll.

The footage shows several cardboard trays filled with the popular milk‑based sweet, each tray also displaying a stack of ₹500 notes. The visual has sparked speculation that the cash could be intended as inducement for voters, a practice that is prohibited under the Representation of the People Act.

Local election officials and the Alwar police have taken note of the video and announced that they will verify its authenticity. They have urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified material and have warned that any attempt to influence voters with money or gifts will be investigated.

Political parties in the city have not commented directly on the clip, but the incident adds to the heightened tension surrounding the election, where voter turnout and fair conduct are under close scrutiny.
