Sports official Rajyavardhan Singh Rath announced that an all‑glass squash court will be set up soon for the upcoming Sub‑Junior and Junior National Championships.

Rajyavardhan Singh Rath, a senior figure in Indian squash administration, confirmed that an all‑glass court will be installed in time for the Sub‑Junior and Junior National Squash Championships. The announcement was made during a press briefing held by the Squash Rackets Federation of India.

The new glass‑backed court is expected to meet international standards, providing players with better visibility and a professional playing environment. Officials said the facility will replace the existing temporary courts that have been used in recent editions of the tournament.

Installation work is slated to begin within the next few weeks, with completion targeted before the start of the championships scheduled later this year. The upgrade aims to boost the profile of junior squash in India and give young athletes exposure to world‑class infrastructure.

Stakeholders, including coaches and state associations, welcomed the move, noting that a permanent glass court could attract more participants and improve performance levels. The federation plans to use the venue for future national and possibly international events, signaling a long‑term investment in the sport's development.

The decision aligns with broader efforts by Indian sports bodies to modernise facilities across disciplines, ensuring that upcoming talent trains and competes in environments comparable to global standards.
