The Allahabad High Court condemned the Uttar Pradesh Police for holding a man in illegal custody for 31 hours and directed his immediate release.

The Allahabad High Court took cognisance of a petition alleging illegal detention of a man by the Uttar Pradesh Police. The court observed that the individual had been kept in custody for 31 hours without legal justification, describing the detention as unlawful. Accordingly, the bench directed the immediate release of the man and criticised the police for the violation of personal liberty.
