The All‑India conference of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairs is set to commence today in the southern state of Kerala. Delegates representing the heads of PACs from all Indian states and union territories will convene to discuss issues related to financial oversight, audit practices, and inter‑state coordination.
Organisers have scheduled a series of plenary sessions, workshops and panel discussions over the next few days, aiming to share best practices and strengthen the role of PACs in ensuring accountability of public expenditures. Participants are expected to present case studies from their respective jurisdictions and explore mechanisms for more effective scrutiny of government finances.
The conference, hosted in Kerala, underscores the growing emphasis on collaborative oversight among parliamentary committees. Officials anticipate that the outcomes will feed into policy recommendations for the central and state governments, enhancing transparency and fiscal discipline nationwide.
