Opening batsman Akash Anand registered his first hundred of the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy campaign, saying he aims to capitalize on the start.
Akash Anand, opening the batting for his state side in the Ranji Trophy 2026-27, reached the three‑figure mark for the first time this season. His innings helped his team post a competitive total in the early phase of the match.
The centurion arrived at the crease after a solid start and, once settled, accelerated to convert his start into a hundred. He completed the milestone without any recorded controversy, displaying a blend of patience and aggression.
Speaking after the innings, Anand said, "Once you get set, you have to make it big," underscoring his intent to build on the platform he created.
Cricket analysts noted that a maiden ton at this stage of the tournament could enhance Anand's prospects for higher honours, including potential consideration for India A or senior national selection.
The performance adds a positive note to the ongoing Ranji Trophy season, which continues to showcase emerging talent across the country.
