In the first phase of Ajmer’s 2026 urban local body elections, 81.92% of the 87,919 registered voters cast their ballots, with Nasirabad recording the highest turnout and Tantoti the lowest.
The inaugural phase of the 2026 urban local body elections in Ajmer district was conducted on Wednesday in a calm and orderly manner. Six municipal councils covering 150 wards opened their polling stations, allowing 87,919 eligible voters to exercise their franchise.
According to the election officials, 72,021 voters turned up, resulting in an overall turnout of 81.92 percent across the district. Among the individual towns, Nasirabad posted the highest participation rate, while Tantoti recorded the lowest turnout.
These figures represent the first set of results in a multi‑phase election that will determine the composition of Ajmer’s municipal bodies for the next five years. Counting of the votes will begin after the final phase concludes, and the outcomes will shape local governance and development priorities in the region.
