AITC leader Mamata Banerjee has accused the West Bengal government of aiding a rival faction in securing affidavits that favor them, according to a report by The Hindu.

Parliamentary leader Mamata Banerjee of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has publicly accused the West Bengal state administration of aiding a rival faction in obtaining affidavits that are favorable to them, as reported by The Hindu.

The allegation centers on the claim that officials within the state machinery facilitated the preparation and submission of affidavits for members of the opposing group, thereby giving them an advantage in upcoming political processes.

AITC has called for an independent inquiry into the matter and warned that such interference undermines democratic norms. The party has urged the central government to intervene and ensure a level playing field.

So far, the West Bengal government has not issued a formal response to the accusations, and no investigation has been announced. The issue remains a point of contention ahead of the state's forthcoming elections.
