An Air India flight bound for Delhi from Phuket, Thailand, experienced a sudden loss of 300 feet in altitude while cruising, according to aviation authorities. The incident occurred during the aircraft’s mid‑flight phase and prompted an emergency response from the crew.

The flight, operating on the Phuket‑Delhi route, was carrying a full complement of passengers and crew when the unexpected descent was detected. Pilots immediately initiated standard emergency procedures and communicated with air traffic control.

Seventeen individuals, including passengers and crew members, sustained injuries ranging from minor bruises to more serious trauma. Medical teams on board and at the arrival airport provided prompt care, and the aircraft was diverted to the nearest suitable airport for an emergency landing.

Air India released a statement confirming the incident, expressing regret for the discomfort caused, and assuring passengers that safety protocols were followed. The airline has pledged to cooperate fully with investigators to determine the cause of the sudden altitude loss.
