Air Chief Marshal AP Singh flew his last Tejas sortie on Monday from Jodhpur airbase, marking the end of his active flying career.

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, who served as the Chief of Air Staff, took to the skies on Monday from Jodhpur airbase in Rajasthan to complete his final fighter sortie aboard the indigenous Tejas aircraft.

The flight, conducted in the Tejas Mk1, marked the culmination of Singh's long career as a pilot and commander in the Indian Air Force.

Singh, who has been instrumental in modernising the IAF, flew the aircraft solo, demonstrating the capabilities of the domestic fighter before retiring from active duty.

The event was witnessed by senior officials and media, underscoring the significance of the Tejas programme in India's defence strategy.

The sortie concluded with a ceremonial salute, symbolising the transition of the IAF to a new generation of leadership.
