All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, will start providing ECG tests at patients' beds, eliminating the need to shift them to separate labs.
AIIMS Delhi announced the rollout of bedside ECG testing, enabling clinicians to perform electrocardiograms directly at a patient's bedside.
The initiative is intended to streamline cardiac monitoring, reduce the need to move patients to separate labs, and enhance infection control, particularly for critically ill or immobile patients.
Portable ECG machines and trained technicians will be deployed across wards and intensive care units, integrating the service into existing clinical workflows.
Hospital officials said the move aligns with AIIMS' broader strategy to provide more patient‑centric care and adopt advanced medical technologies.
The bedside ECG service is slated to become operational in the coming weeks, covering all major departments.
