AIIMS Bhopal launches 24‑hour WhatsApp service for appointments, reports and certificates

AIIMS Bhopal has introduced a round‑the‑clock WhatsApp platform that lets patients book doctor appointments, receive test results, and obtain certificates without leaving home.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Bhopal announced a new digital service that operates through WhatsApp, aiming to simplify patient interaction with the hospital. Users can now schedule doctor consultations, receive laboratory and radiology reports, and obtain official documents such as discharge summaries, birth and death certificates, and the Aadhar‑linked identification number, all via a single chat interface.
The service is available 24 hours a day, allowing patients to access it at any time, including outside regular outpatient hours. According to the institute, the platform is designed to reduce the need for physical visits, cut waiting times, and improve the overall efficiency of patient care.
AIIMS Bhopal officials said the rollout will initially cover core services and will be expanded based on user feedback. The initiative reflects a broader push in Indian healthcare to leverage mobile technology for better accessibility and patient convenience.
Patients are required to register their mobile number with the hospital to activate the WhatsApp channel. Once registered, they can send predefined keywords to receive the desired service, and the system will automatically generate and share the relevant documents.
The institute has not disclosed the exact number of users enrolled so far, but it expects rapid adoption given the widespread use of WhatsApp across the country.
