AIADMK Faction Led by Palanisamy Urges Speaker to Disqualify Velumani’s Group

A faction of the AIADMK led by Palanisamy has petitioned the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly to disqualify the rival faction headed by Velumani, citing internal party disputes.
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has split into two rival factions, one led by former MLA Palanisamy and the other by former minister Velumani.
Palanisamy’s group has formally approached the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, requesting that Velumani’s faction be disqualified from the party due to alleged violations of party rules.
The disqualification would strip Velumani’s group of its official AIADMK status and could lead to a reshuffle of seats in the assembly.
The Speaker is expected to review the petition and decide whether to move a resolution, a process that could further polarise the already fractured party.
