The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and LTM have initiated the CinemAI Hackathon at the ongoing MIFF 2026, featuring over 180 participants engaged in a 48-hour artificial intelligence filmmaking challenge.

The CinemAI Hackathon, a 48-hour challenge focused on AI-assisted filmmaking, commenced at the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2026. Over 180 creators are participating in this unique event, aiming to produce short films under the theme "Mumbai Through a Thousand Eyes."

The competition requires participants to develop 90 to 120-second films utilizing artificial intelligence tools. The top ten entries will be selected on June 18 for further recognition.

These shortlisted films will be screened at MIFF on June 20. The hackathon offers cash prizes up to ₹1.5 lakh for the winning participants, encouraging innovation in the burgeoning field of AI in cinema.
