Ahmedabad Youth Arrested in Gwalior for Stalking, Marriage Pressure Over Karwa Chauth

Police in Gwalior's Golaa Temple area detained an Ahmedabad resident accused of stalking a woman, harassing her and pressuring her for marriage during a Karwa Chauth visit.
The Gwalior police, operating out of the Golaa Temple police station, arrested 27-year-old Sahil Patel from Ahmedabad following a complaint lodged by a local woman. The complainant alleged that Patel arrived in Gwalior carrying Karwa Chauth items, pursued her, made unwanted advances, and repeatedly urged her to marry him.
According to the FIR, Patel also threatened to circulate photographs taken during his visit if the woman did not comply with his demands. The police said they seized his mobile phone and other evidence during the arrest.
Patel was taken into custody under sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to criminal intimidation, harassment and wrongful restraint. He will appear before the court for further proceedings, while the victim was advised to seek legal counsel and protection.
The case highlights growing concerns over misuse of social media and personal interactions during cultural festivals, prompting local authorities to urge citizens to report any form of intimidation promptly.
