An Ahmedabad resident undertaking the Kailash pilgrimage has been reported missing after severe flooding struck the Nepalese region where the trek passes.

A resident of Ahmedabad who was on the sacred Kailash Yatra has been declared missing after the monsoon‑driven floods swept through the trekking corridor in Nepal. Local authorities in the affected district said rescue teams were deployed as water levels rose rapidly, cutting off several routes used by pilgrims.

The pilgrim, who was part of a larger group traveling from India to the holy Mount Kailash, was last seen near a river crossing that was inundated by flash floods. Officials are conducting a search operation, coordinating with Indian consular officials to trace the missing individual's whereabouts.

Family members in Gujarat have been informed and are awaiting further updates. The Nepalese disaster management agency has urged all pilgrims to remain vigilant and follow safety advisories as the region continues to experience heavy rainfall.

Rescue crews are using boats and helicopters where possible, but the rugged terrain and ongoing rains are hampering efforts. The situation remains fluid, and authorities have asked the public to refrain from spreading unverified information.

The incident underscores the risks associated with high‑altitude pilgrimages during the monsoon season, prompting calls for better preparedness and real‑time weather monitoring for future expeditions.
