Adulterated Milk Found in Punjab: 43% Samples Fail Safety Standards

A food safety inspection conducted by the Punjab Food Safety Authority in Jalandhar tested a batch of milk and dairy product samples from various outlets across the state. Out of the total samples, 43 percent fell short of the mandatory quality and safety standards set by the authority. The failures were primarily linked to the presence of unauthorized additives and dilution with water or other substances. Health experts warn that such adulteration can lead to gastrointestinal infections, allergic reactions, and long‑term nutritional deficiencies. The authority has ordered immediate recall of the non‑compliant products and urged stricter monitoring of dairy supply chains.
