The Asian Development Bank has entered its first Transaction Advisory Pact in India, aiming to mobilise about $1 billion for renewable energy initiatives.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed its inaugural Transaction Advisory Pact with Indian partners, marking the first such agreement in the country. The pact is designed to provide advisory support that will help attract private and public capital for renewable‑energy projects across India.
Under the agreement, ADB aims to mobilise roughly $1 billion of financing for green energy initiatives, ranging from solar and wind farms to emerging clean‑technology ventures. The bank will work closely with Indian financial institutions, developers and government agencies to structure transactions that lower investment risk and improve project viability.
The deal aligns with India’s ambitious climate targets and its push to expand clean‑energy capacity in the coming decade. By leveraging ADB’s expertise, the partnership is expected to accelerate the flow of funds into the sector, creating jobs and contributing to the country’s transition to a low‑carbon economy.
Industry observers note that the pact could serve as a model for future collaborations, encouraging other multilateral lenders to adopt similar advisory frameworks to unlock additional private‑sector investment in sustainable infrastructure.
