Adani Airport Holdings Limited announced an initiative aimed at expanding air connectivity between India's Northeast region and Asian destinations.
Adani Airport Holdings Limited said it will invest in new routes, upgrade airports and partner with airlines to open direct flights linking key Northeastern cities such as Guwahati, Imphal and Agartala with major Asian hubs.
The move forms part of a broader effort to integrate the region into India’s international air network and to stimulate trade, tourism and investment.
Officials noted that improved connectivity could cut travel time, lower passenger and cargo costs and support the government’s Act East policy.
AAHL will work with civil aviation authorities to secure slots and ensure compliance with safety standards.
The initiative is slated for rollout over the next 12‑18 months, with the first routes expected to commence by early next year.
