The All India Students’ Federation (ABVP) staged a protest at the Delhi Municipal Corporation’s headquarters, calling for the municipal commissioner’s resignation after the Satya Niketan accident.
A fatal incident at the Satya Niketan residential complex in Delhi has sparked widespread concern among residents and authorities. The tragedy, which resulted in several casualties, has intensified scrutiny of the city's municipal management.
In response, the All India Students’ Federation (ABVP) organized a demonstration outside the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) headquarters on Thursday. Protesters unfurled banners and chanted slogans demanding the immediate resignation of the municipal commissioner, whom they hold responsible for alleged lapses in safety oversight.
ABVP leaders stated that the protest aims to press the administration for a transparent inquiry and stricter enforcement of building regulations. As of now, MCD officials have not issued a formal comment on the demands, and the municipal commissioner’s status remains unchanged.
The demonstration attracted a sizable crowd of students and local residents, underscoring the growing public pressure on civic authorities to address safety concerns and accountability in urban governance.
