The student wings of the BJP and BJD, ABVP and BCJD, have announced victories in the recent Odisha university union polls.
The All India Student Federation (ABVP), the student wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD), linked to the Biju Janata Dal, have both claimed success in the latest student union elections across Odisha's higher‑education institutions. The announcements came shortly after the polls concluded, with each organization highlighting the number of campuses where their candidates secured key posts.
Election officials have yet to release an official, consolidated result, but the statements from ABVP and BCJD suggest a competitive contest that could shape campus politics ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.
Both groups emphasized their commitment to student welfare and academic development, signalling that their victories, if confirmed, will translate into greater influence over university councils and student bodies in the state.
