AAPSU has drawn attention to a severe shortage of medical personnel at Anini District Hospital, located in the remote Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh near the Indo‑China frontier. The union reports that the facility is understaffed across doctors, nurses and ancillary staff.
The shortage, according to the union, hampers both emergency response and routine outpatient services, a critical issue given the area's isolation and the paucity of alternative health centres.
AAPSU has appealed to the state health department and central authorities to expedite recruitment and deployment of additional staff, warning that continued gaps could jeopardise patient safety.
The hospital serves thousands of civilians as well as border personnel, and the union’s alert adds to growing concerns about healthcare infrastructure in far‑flung northeastern regions.
State officials have not yet issued a formal response to the union’s demands.
